To be considered for the program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be referred by their home district.
2. Must be 18 years or age or older and have completed 4 years of high school.
3. Candidates should not be seeking additional high school credits. The program is intended for those who have completed their formal high school education.
4. Must have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
5. Should possess basic hygiene and grooming skills.
6. Must be able to maintain basic appropriate behavior and social skills in the workplace, either independently or with support.
7. Must have an interest in obtaining competitive integrated employment or supported employment.
8. Should be able to meet any hiring business requirements such as, but not limited to:
   • Pass a criminal background check
   • Drug screening
   • Current immunizations, etc.

Transition Planning

This is a program for students who are in their final years of school. A person-centered plan will be developed with each student and their team to determine appropriate path and program exit timeline. A CAIU Social Worker will facilitate regular progress meetings to ensure inter-agency collaboration in the creation of the post-school plan.
