Brain Injury Support

BrainSTEPS logo

Our brain injury and support program, called BrainSTEPS, is a child and adolescent brain injury program that assists with re-entry to school. This program works to ensure that those who provide educational support to children with acquired brain injuries (ABI), or those identified previously as having a traumatic or nontraumatic brain injury (TBI/nTBI) have access to information about best practices. These supports are offered to help students achieve educational success through research-based support services until graduation.

Our consultants are professionals from various disciplines who receive continuous training on current trends and practices specific to children with brain injuries.  As consultants they are available to provide the following services:

  • School re-entry planning

  • Consultation with educators and community providers

  • Technical assistance with educational programming

  • Consultation to parents

  • Brain injury awareness training

  • Long-term monitoring
