Rapid Response Team

The Rapid Response Team (RRT) is here to help if your child is at risk of suspension or expulsion from child care or preschool. The RRT is a completely free service to centers and families. Our team is dedicated to expanding the use of preventative, rather than reactive, behavior supports in early childhood settings. The goal is to help our youngest friends believe in themselves and know they can be successful. We do this by helping centers create the most supportive environments for all children.

The RRT has a 92% success rate for retaining children in their current placement, and was developed in partnership with Child Care Consultants.

Center directors or caregivers are welcome to make a referral by contacting Kim Alloway at 717-881-2306 or toll-free at 1-800-864-4925.

If your foundation is interested in helping to support the work of the RRT, please contact Irene Reedy by email at ireedy@caiu.org or by phone at 717-732-8400 x 8543.

Help for Childcare Expulsion or Suspension

It is difficult to imagine that infants, toddlers, and preschoolers would be excluded or expelled from a childcare or preschool program because of their behavior. But there is growing evidence that young children are asked to leave child care and preschool settings three times as often as school-age children. Fortunately, there are resources for families who are experiencing this concern.  Please click on this link for helpful resources that may be available to you and your child.
