If your child or a child under your care is having difficulty talking, walking, moving, hearing, seeing, or learning, you may refer that child for a developmental screening or evaluation to determine if preschool early intervention services are needed.  

Steps to Complete the CAIU Early Intervention Referral

1. Go to the referral page and click "Submit a Referral."
2. When the Grasp & Grow page opens, click the green "Make Referral" button.
3. On the Select Intermediate Unit screen, choose Capital Area Intermediate Unit 15 (CAIU).
4. Complete all required fields in the referral form.
5. Click "Submit Referral" when finished.

Important Reminder

Early Intervention referrals must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. If someone other than a parent or legal guardian submits a referral, a staff member will contact the family to ask that the referral be submitted again by the parent or legal guardian.
