The Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) interagency coordinator is available to school districts and charter schools as a consultative service at no charge. The purpose of interagency coordination is to promote a working relationship between the educational system, families, and various community agencies in order to provide continuity of care and communication. This working relationship should help students and families access and benefit from available services within their community in the least restrictive environment. The interagency coordinator may serve as a liaison between community agencies, families, and school entities.
