CAIU Coat Drive

Operation Warm Kids with their new coats and thumbs up

A staggering number of families and children in our region live in poverty, making meeting basic needs challenging. This year we raised $31,544 dollars to purchase coats for approximately 1,400 children in the Capital Region. This year coats will be provided to children in all four Perry County School Districts.

We have partnered with Operation Warm, a non-profit that has been providing children with coats across North America for more than 22 years. Operation Warm’s mission has always been focused on the whole child. Their tagline, ‘more than a coat’ means that the coats don’t just provide physical warmth, but also emotional warmth, the confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope of a brighter future.

The opportunity to provide a brand new, warm coat to a child is a great example of realizing our organization’s vision of changing lives.
