The Capital Area Intermediate Unit provides a specialized hospital school program for children admitted to the partial hospital program at Pinnacle Health Behavior Services in Harrisburg.
The Pinnacle Health Behavior Services Program has both a children's partial school program and adolescent partial school program.
The educational component of the program allows academic needs to be met through onsite classroom time. The teacher provides individual instruction in this setting and maintains close contact with the student's primary school.
The Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program is designed to meet both therapeutic and academic needs. The time is highly structured with group, individual, family and psychiatric therapies, as well as classroom instruction. The length of stay varies according to need. The Child Partial Program qualifies as a homebound program.
