The Training and Consultation staff provides professional development and consultative services to building-level teams in selecting, acquiring, and using assistive technology devices, which provides access to the general education curriculum by creating opportunities for improved communication, computer access, and environmental control. Staff also consults with school staff on devices and services needed for alternative augmentative communication (AAC), computer access, written communication, environmental control, or for sensory (auditory or visual) access environments in which the students need to function. IU consultants assist in planning for implementation of universal design for learning (UDL) to improve access to the general curriculum for all students. Services are provided through on-site workshops with follow-up and consultation.

Fee:

A fee for professional development services is dependent upon the topic being presented. A list of both fee-based and no fee is available on the CAIU website or by request.
