Reading Apprenticeship is a research-based approach to improving adolescent literacy that recognizes the unique nature of adolescence and uses those characteristics to unlock the joy of reading in our youth. The Reading Apprenticeship framework combines affective and cognitive aspects of literacy support, promoting adolescents' engagement and achievement in reading and writing in their content area classes. Districts can implement this framework across an entire building or initially within an academic literacy class
