Special Events

There are two events each year which promote the breakfast and lunch programs at Hill Top Academy.  Those events, sponsored by the School Nutrition Association (SNA), are the "National School Lunch Week" (NSLW) which is October 9-13, 2017 and the "National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) which is March 5-9, 2018.

National School Lunch Week:

Every year, schools across the country celebrate National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in October to raise public awareness about the nutritional value of the federally funded lunch program available at schools and to involve students in school lunch.  The dates for this year's NSLW are October 9-13, 2017

The National School Lunch Week 2017-18 theme is "School Lunch:Recipes for Success". This reminds parents, students, and school officials that a healthy school lunch helps students power through the day.

National School Breakfast Week:

National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children.  Each year, we celebrate this important week with a fun theme!  This year's theme is "I heart school breakfast" and will run from March 5-9, 2018.  Encourages parents, students, and school officials to start their morning with a healthy breakfast.

NSBW also provides a platform for us to share important facts about our school breakfast program:

  • SBP meals meet federal dietary guidelines.
  • It's a healthy and affordable way for kids to start the day!
  • There is an established link between eating breakfast and academic success.

School breakfast is convenient and students, come on in and join us for breakfast!
