Cafeteria Procedures

Lunch Periods:

All students will transition to the cafeteria with their class during their assigned lunch period.  Lunch periods are twenty (20) minutes long.

Packed Lunches from Home:

The Hill Top Academy (HTA) cafeteria provides students with a variety of nutritious options every day.  If your child brings his or her lunch from home, please try to ensure that it is comprised of nutritionally sound choices as we are committed to providing healthy meals.  Beverages brought from home must be in sealed containers.  Opened containers may not be brought into school.  Beverages provided in school include water, 100% fruit juices and milk products along with iced teas and lemonade for 9-12 students.

Negative Balances:

The HTA Food Services Department encourages parents to prepay meals for their child(ren) by using SchoolCafe.  Cash and check payments will continue to be accepted at the school, however, payments made through SchoolCafe is preferred.

Students wanting a nutritious meal offered in the cafeteria and not having money will be allowed to charge a meal with repayment expected within two (2) school days by either putting money through the online system or by paying by cash or check at the school.  Students may charge their accounts only for a reimbursable meal which meets the USDA standards.  Students will not be permitted to charge a la carte items.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Kelly Gethouas at 717-732-8436.

Return Check Policy:

There will be a $20 service fee for any returned check from your bank.  Should we receive a returned check for NSF (non-sufficient funds), etc., we may no longer accept checks as payment for meals but will require a money order or cash.

School Delays:

If Hill Top Academy has a delayed start time due to weather or building problems, breakfast will not be served.
